I know we were all enjoying the good vibes Summer was bringing, but we're going to need to bring those good vibes to the classroom now. Yes, let Drake's "Summer's Over Interlude" play on a loop in our heads, as some of us put our textbooks, pencil cases and handy but never used Agenda in our new 2017 backpack. It's time for school.

Now, some of you may be sad. Others, might be excited! September is almost like a pre- New Years, where you come up with new goals & resolutions on how you want this school year to play out. Who you want to be. What you want to accomplish. And how you're going to get it all done. And that's great! School shouldn't be an immediate, negative thought. Rather, it should be a moment to think,"How can I make this the dopest year yet!"

Although I'm not going back to school myself, I'm totally here to motivate & cheer you guys on as much as you need. That's why I've got 5 Back 2 School Tips, to make this a dope ass year for you, so you can have a successful school year! But - just don't be reading this while your Proff is reading the Syllabus ...

📝 BE ORGANIZED ! 📝

- If you're not already an organized person, I'll admit, it IS hard to start. But getting into the habit of being organized & having all your stuff together will definitely help you in the long run. Before your classes start, make sure you have your schedule and remember what days you have what classes & know where those classes will be in your school. If you haven't already done a tour of your school yet, walk around to see what area your classes are in. Knowing ahead of time give you a better advantage, rather than being that student that walks in half way through the class & everyone stares at you.
*TIP: Use your phone calendar to write down your schedule, so your schedule is alwasy with you.

🕒 GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME 🕒

- I don't know about you, but I am NOT a morning person! And for that reason, I need to give myself a little extra time in the morning, when getting ready. I set my alarm at a reasonable time, that allows me to do everything I need to do before I rush off to class. Whether it's breakfast, or time to shower, time to print off some notes or download music for the ride to school, give yourself enough time in the morning, so you're not rushing & you're not forgetting anything!

*TIP: Google your address & view how far your school is from your house. Then, factor in traffic, if you're commuting or if your walking. Once you know how much time it will take to get to school, figure out how much time you'll need to get ready.

🍎 BE PRESENT 🍎

- It's hard to pay attention in class when you're not even interested in what you're learning. Eating breakfast in the morning really helps your attention span & will give you all the energy you need to be the best you! In the morning, or even before class, grab some food that gives you an energy boost. Oatmeal, Bagels or even Eggs will really help keep you full and give you enough energy for your busy day ahead. If you're not really hungry in the morning, Smoothies are a GREAT energy boost too! A perfect drink to bring on the go!

*TIP: If you don't think you'll have enough time to sit & eat breakfast, try leaving your house a little early to grab something at school! Most Cafeteria's are open early in the morning, so you can grab some food before class!

🚧 BE PREPARED 🚧

- Some things are really out of your control! Traffic, the bus is late or you get a spill on your favourite pair of jeans. Things CAN go wrong! But it's not always going to be your fault. Try planning ahead & factor in time for something to go wrong. I know it's easier said than done, but if you try planning ahead for some things, you'll soon get into the habit of planning ahead of all things, which will be better for you in the long run.

*TIP: Instead of printing a large paper off at home & running out of ink at the last minute, print large papers or assignments at school, where they always have ink!

🎒 PACK EVERYTHING YOU NEED 🎒

- School supplies are important to have, but depending on how busy your DAY is going to be, you may need more than a pen & a notebook. Try planning ahead, when it comes to what type of day your going to have, before you leave for school. Whether it's a day your going to need your scrubs, or a day your going to the gym after class, or a phone charger because you're working after school. Pack everything you think you'll need in order to be less stressed. Even if being less stressed means packing an extra snack!

*TIP: Whether it's a light day or a heavy day, I always pack an extra charger in my bag & leave it in my bag. That way, when I really do need it - I always have it!

🙏🏾 ALL THE BEST TO YOU THIS SCHOOL YEAR ! 🙏🏾
