My 2022 Style Inspo Is 90's Airport Style!
Idk where these celebs were going, but I do know ONE THING - they went in STYLE!!
Google defines Inspiration as: “the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.”. And in this age, we’re very fortunate to seek inspiration from multiple sources & outlets. The internet most likely being everyone’s #1 source. But back in the 90’s, I really feel like a lot of their inspiration came from many spurs of the moment, or of course different media inspirations at that time. IDK what it was about dressing to head out, or out of the airport, but these celebs had it all figured out.
I was scrolling the internet the other day (as we all do) & I saw multiple celebs being photographed leaving the airport. And the focus was on their fit choices. I thought to myself “Wow! This fit is 🔥”. And dissecting it more, it was interesting to me, to see the relevancy to today! You could of course argue “things come back in style eventually”, or “they’re just wearing staple items”, but for me personally - it was the styling choices, & who many of these one off pieces are currently trending TODAY.
Therefore, I came to the conclusion - 90’s Airport style will be my 2022 inspo this year! In today’s post, I highlight & share some of my favourite ‘heading to the airport’ looks, of everyone’s favourite decade.
Streetstyle go-to
Don’t sleep - Woody Harrelson had some FITS!!! Not sure if his style inspiration came from him, or a stylist at the time, but Woody was truly ahead of the trend! My man is rocking Dunks & a Varsity Jacket which is very on brand for the early 20’s today! If Woody still has that Jacket - he could rockin’ it out on the streets today!
Ebony & Ivory
IDK if I’ve ever seen Denzel Washington rock a stache like that, but he rocks it well! Loving the darker fit, mixed in with the all white Rebook sneakers WITH a turtleneck!! Washington certainly gets my vote!
Leather Lad
Not sure if wearing a Pilot jacket was just the obvious thing to do in the 90s, but these celebs rocking leather simply do not miss! I personally love Jerry Seinfield’s streetstyle outfit! From the baseball cap, to the dark denim jeans, paired with some Nike shoes. Idk where he’s off to, but he’s definitely not headed to worst dressed.
Business Casual
Whether they’re departing, or arriving, one things for sure - they mean BUSINESS! I love that these two are making suit jackets more causal, by rocking them with non-matching pants. I personally dig Letterman’s look! The leather duffle is also a winner!
Layer At All Costs
These fellas know how to show off all of their Fit! The layering here seems so effortless as they head out of the state, or into a new city. I really dig “Weird Al” Yankovic’s pairing of the green suit jacket, with the (what looks like) black track pants! Definitely a look of the times, but hey - it works!
Long Coat King
As long Coats are a big trend right now - it’s nice to see a past decade style them. I LOVE how casual Christian Slater is rocking his long wool coat, as he hustles to catch his flight! It’s such an effortless way to look put together - especially in a rush!

And there you have it! For 2022 - THIS is my style inspiration! Now I won’t be dressing like this after day of the week, but for some quick errands, or rushing as I head out to another shoot, I might just rock a long overcoat with sweats. Or a varsity jacket with some High-top Nike dunks! Not sure if there's celebrities knew they’d be inspiring fashion decades later with these effortless looks, but it’s obvious most of these pieces are still very on trend to this day.
