🍃 Spring is on the horizon 🍃

Depending on where you are, the weather plays a big role in how close you feel spring is,
or even better - if it’s arrived! In Toronto the weather is slowly but surely easing up. The snow is melting, the sun is staying out a liiiiiil bit longer every night & the weather is getting warmer day by day too. And this is great news after weeks of snowstorms, brutally cold weather & little to no sunlight during the small hours the sun could be out. Spring is close by & I don’t think i’m the only one eagerly waiting.

To get you guys excited & ready for spring, I wanted to share some trend & styles I’m looking forward to wearing when the szn arrives. I love a seasonal change, not only for the weather, but for the outfit changes & a new way to style myself. Spring is bringing along some great style changes & I wanted to highlight them for you in today’s post.

From Rugby shirts, to Baggy denim, to Cardigans & Trench coats, here’s everything I’m looking forward to wearing this spring!

Don’t feel like rockin’ a jacket? Then OVERSHIRTS are gonna be your new go-to! They’re perfect for layering & can be a great statement piece! OVERSHIRTS are great to layer with a Hoodie, or just a T-shirt. And when the weather gets warmer, you’ll wanna grab one of these instead of a jacket.

Paying homage to uniform days back in Highschool, this classic shirt may feel very comfortable & familiar, but the style is anything but old. With an array of colourways & different prints, it’ll be a great addition to anyone closet this Spring. Website’s are marketing this as a very laid back look, pairing this shirt with Sweatpants. Which can definitely be done! But If you’re ever looking to dress this shirt UP, try dressing it with Chinos, or even Cargos!

There used to be a time period where I was so against wearing ZIP UP HOODIES. Maybe after highschool I wore them to enough. But right now, I’ve fallen back in love with them. They’ve always been a classic way to share more of a layered outfit, with showing the t-shirt underneath, or flannel, ect… I love the way the model on the far right is wearing a grey Stussy Hoodie, with a black t-shirt underneath & colourful patterned pants. It really is a vibe!

Just when I thought this piece would never make a comeback - it found a way! Since F/W, CARDIGANS have been making waves all over. And Instagram has showed us there’s many more ways to style a CARDIGAN & even have it match your street style vibe too! Spring is no exception & has been seen more mainstream from sites like H&M, Urban Outfitters & even MNML LA! The CARDIGAN is a simple layering piece that can really add some style flare to your Fit this spring!

The online debate of Skinny Jeans no longer being the main denim of choice has been silenced with BAGGY DENIM taking over the spotlight! I personally LOVE these chiller & more relaxed style of denim. If you’re new to the Baggy trend, try a pair out for yourself to see if it matches your current style. If you’re a fan of Cargos, I feel like this is also an easy look to get into.

Okay, of course PANTS are a given when it comes to dressing. But for the Springtime, popular pants to rock this szn are STRAIGHT PANTS by Dickies & a pair of CORDUROY PANTS. The Straight Pants are a great addition because they’re pretty plain on the front (Not a ton of pockets, like cargos have), but whether you’re cuffing them at the bottom, or having them overtop your Jordan 1’s or Converse, they look super fly.

TRENCH COATS are trending rn, as more & more people are popping on the scene with this classic coat. Whether they’re wearing it dressed up, or dressed down, it’s a very laid back look. I love the tan, neutral style of this coat, but the all black coat is definitely a vibe too!

Now if there’s one item on here that shouldn’t be a surprise - it’s this one. VARSITY JACKETS have taken street style by STORM & have been EVERYWHERE, yet, surprisingly still hard to find. I’ve seen a lot more stores reproducing their own version of this popular jacket, but a lot of people have gone thrifting in order to find their popular match. It’s a great jacket to have & style.

HATS have always been in style, yes. But this szn, there’s something about ‘47 Brand Hats & Trucker Hats that have been the main style hat recently & has been sold everywhere too. A ton of online collabs have been with ‘47 Brand & there’s even been unique MLB team logos that have really caught people’s attention. If you’re looking for a piece to add to your Fit this Spring - you might have to cop a baseball hat if you haven’t already.

Can’t complete a fit without the KICKS! Converse are always great shoes to rock for Spring & go great with pants that fall overtop of them. Everyone loves Jordan 1’s a ton rn & I think the Dark Mocha’s will still be a very popular colourway, even in the Spring.

And there you have it! Those are 10 things I’m looking forward to wearing for Spring 2021! Although not many places & events are open like before, i’m still looking forward to dressing up when I can & feeling good while dressing up! I feel like that’s more important than dressing to impress!
