6 Style Trends
I'm Predicting
For 2023!
Here’s my style trend predictions I see in the foreseeable future !
As a new year rolls in, so do the year predictions! 🔮🔮🔮
2022 was full of fast changing trends - good & bad. Some lasted throughout the year, and others were thankfully, only a moment. But as social media rapidly changes how we recognize & partake in trends, I thought I’d give my two cents on what I’m predicting might be on the upward trajectory for this year.
These are trends I THINK might be popular for 2023! I have no idea, nor am I an expert.
So take this lightly. But if I’m right - also give me credit.
Here’s my 6 predictions of style trend for 2023!
1.) RACER JACKETS
You might have seen this trend a lil later last year, but RACER JACKETS are already on road & taking speed QUICK! Climate wise - I think this will be pretty big for spring & something we’ll see a lot of people rockin’. Whats great about this trend is a lot of people will be wearing vintage / second-hand jackets, which means this trend wont’ exactly break the bank. It’s a great piece that you can have for longevity as this trend won’t fade, but will simply make a pitstop,
till it trends again in the future.
2.) BACK TO BASICS
BASICS won’t ever go out of style. Nor will they “trend”. But I think we’ll see a lot of people’s style be paired with more simple & stylish basics, rather than some loud / statement pieces. I think instead of patchwork or Logo’s, people will go for a more monochrome approach & gravitate towards solid colours.
3.) UTILITARIAN STYLE
Okay, gorpcore is already a pretty big fashion subgroup in today’s style meter, but I feel like it derives from UTILITARIAN STYLE. And remember in 2013 when army Pants & army Jackets were a huge trend? I think with gorpcore taking off, we’ll see more & more people hop on that trend, but almost take inspiration from the army trend from 2013. So be prepared for A LOT OF POCKETS - EVERYWHERE!
4.) ARMY GREEN
And with UTILITARIAN STYLE taking over - I think it only makes sense that ARMY GREEN will steal the limelight this year. I think it’s going to be a colour we see in all style pieces. From Jackets mainly, to Pants, Shirts & Shoes.
5.) MORE MENSWEAR / STREETWEAR COMBOS
This might be subjective, or something I hope trends - but I think / I want to see more of a collaboration of MENSWEAR & STREETWEAR. Brands like aime leon dore do it so effortlessly! The way they style certain pieces is such a merger & blend of this new wave of menswear & also such an elevation of streetwear. I truly hope to see more of this with people styles in general! But also hopefully see more brands creating pieces that do this as well.
6.) BAGGY BOTTOMS WITH SLIM SHIRTS
Now, this trend might not be for everyone, but I see the vision & why it’s on the rise to be amongst the masses.
Since the pandemic, style has really ran with the whole comfort & oversize fits theme. That’s certainly why we see tons of baggy fits & baggier pants now. But as today’s style takes a lot of inspiration from the early 2000’s & people wanting to emulate + update that - in turn, we’re going to see this baggy jeans or pants, with slimmer Tee’s or tops. It’s very cyber-punk & something both genders can rock very well, so I think this will certainly be a trend everyone at least tries once!
And there you have it! THOSE are the 6 things in fashion I’m predicting will trend this year. APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE IF THEY DON’T - but I believe these have a high potential to be on everyone’s radar for 2023! At the end of the day, style is subjective. What I think might trend, you might not agree with & vise versa. And that’s totally okay! Regardless if any of these items trend or don’t trend - I’m excited to see what turn style takes this year!
