🇬🇧 I THRIVE IN LONDON!! 🇬🇧

Yes, I know I just got back from LA a couple weeks ago, but I caught the traveling bug & couldn’t help myself!! LOL Nah, all jokes aside, getting to go to London was such a blessing for me & it was a trip I had actually planned earlier this year. I have family
in London, so I was planning a trip to go visit them & explore the city!

Although I’ve been to England before, I had the most amazing time on this trip!
I explored different parts of the city I had never seen before, got to experience life like the locals of London do, & just had such a different perspective of this beautiful city.
I wanted to share what went down on my trip, so here it is!

So, if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen that I just got back from the West Coast & saw the sunny city of
Los Angeles for my first time ever. It was an amazing trip! Though I was only home for one week, I was super excited & eager to head back out on another trip & to be going to the other side of the pond. I have family in England,
so I was really just excited to visit again & see them.

From Toronto to London, the flight is 7 hours. I wasn’t really all that excited for that long plane ride, but of course it was something that had to be done. I downloaded a couple movies from Netflix onto my phone, had a few Playlists going,
& tried to get some shut eye. While I was getting antsy, my flight was done, & I was in … LONDON TOWN!

My first couple days in London were super chill. The day I landed, I was honestly just trying to stay awake after my flight! Every time I fly to London, I always take a nap, & can’t sleep the entire time I’m visiting. So this time around, I tried my HARDEST to push through & just spent time with my family. The Thursday I pretty much slept all day.

On the Friday, my family took me to Westfield Mall for some shopping. It was nice to see the similar & different stores Europe had from North America. I checked out a bunch of the clothing stores & shoe stores, but didn’t find much on this day. Of course they had an Urban Outfitters & of course I checked it out! The also had a store called Weekday that I had shopped online before. Really great place to shop if you’re in Europe! Very Urban x Topshop vibes. We also grabbed a bite to eat in the malls food court. They had a Jamaican restaurant IN the food court that I HAD to try out! The place was called Rhythm Kitchen. I LOVED IT!

On the Saturday, I had a pretty chill DAY, but had a really fun NIGHT! The day was kind of rainy, so I didn’t do much. This was the first time in FOREVER that I could really sit down & watch tv even. I just chilled & watched Friends most of my day. At night, I actually met up with a friend while in London. She took me out with some of her friends & I got to experience some of London night life! We took the train to Central London, & then went to this area called Shoreditch. There was a bunch of Bars here & I was told THIS is where everyone in London goes to go out!
Which, I can confirm, because the streets were packed with people, getting ready to have a good night!

The first bar we went to was called BoxPark. It was almost like a rooftop Bar & it was PACKED with people! There was a bunch of food venders as well, & I decided to try a Burger from Black Bear Burger! Once I had my burger, we all got a couple drinks & I really got to see how Brits entertain. It was great getting to know my friends friends, and to be out.
I’ve also gotta add that London Bars play GREAT music!! After BoxPark we went to a few other Bars in that area.
I really had a great time going out & it was really cool just experiencing night life out in another country.

Sunday was another really cool day! I met up with a friend of mine for lunch & took the bus AND a subway all by myself to meet her! Though the buses & undergrounds are pretty straight forward, but I didn’t have data, so I was just concerned of getting lost or not seeing my friend. BUT, everything worked out & I was able to successfully meet my friend!
She took me back to Shoreditch, to a restaurant for brunch called The Breakfast Club! I got Chicken n Waffles &
they were BOMB!!! They even had Mac n Cheese on the side, which was just as amazing!
HIGHLY recommend if you’re in London!

After brunch, my friend just took me around Shoreditch & we just explored the area. She then took me to Brick Lane where they have this huge market place! They had a ton of food venders & people selling everything! It was cool to check this out because this market place is something that happens every weekend. It was cool to see what locals really spend their days doing & all these fun little things that are happening all over the city. My friend was a great tour guide!

On Monday, I went out to Central London, which is also known as downtown London. Brits don’t say downtown,
they say central instead. My family took me to Piccadilly Circus & Oxford Street to do some shopping & just check out some popular spots in the city. We went past Buckingham palace & saw all of that. I mostly did shopping on this day. I went to Zara, Topman & of course Urban Outfitters! I also met up with a friend & went out for Dinner!
We grabbed sushi, ya boy’s favourite! We ate at this Sushi resturant called Taka London.

On Tuesday, my family & I checked out more of the area that I was staying in, Greenwich. I LOVE Greenwich because there’s surprisingly so many things to do & see! It’s not considered central London, but to me, there’s days where it’s just as busy. My fam took me to the O2, their popular concert venue, that Drake so famously turned into the O3. Next, we went on a cable car for some top views of the city! After that, we took a boat to the Greenwich Market Place, which is one of my favourite places to visit. After grabbing some food at the market place, we just walked around Greenwich Park & It was just really good family time.

On Wednesday I had one last day to check out London & what it had to offer. My family brought me to Camden, to check out some of the shops, as well as the famous Camden Market Place. I had a lot of fun just walking around & seeing all the shops, and venders & local shops too! The Camden Market Place was one of my favourites places we went, just because of all the local venders and also the AMAZING food venders too! SO MUCH FOOOOOD!! I also got a chance to go thrifting & bought a pretty cool t-shirt.

And THAT was my trip! I left pretty early on Thursday, so that day I spent just traveling. I had such a great time in London though! I felt like this time around was different. I spent a good amount of time experiencing what London locals experience. How they entertain. How they commute. How they shop. How they eat. I’ve been to London a couple times when I was younger, but this was one of the best trips yet!

I Hope you guys enjoyed this Blog post! The VLOG for this trip will hopefully be coming next week! Stay tuned.
